Another wedding colour question?
Our colours so far were red black & silver but i have fallen in love with these dark purple bridesmaid dresses, so i'm considering changing the theme can i include the purple dresses and just have the groomsmen in silver ties (black shirts) we are all having roses so i think red roses would contrast well with this or should i just stick to my orignal colours the dress iwant is availble in red i just like the purple more, the decorations for the reception will be in the black red and sliver colours... or would i look alright if i changed it all to black silver and dark purple then have red roses...(roses have special meaning to us so have to be included) thanks
If no one has purchased anything yet, then in my opinion, by all means! Yes! Change it to what ever tickles your fancy! You are the bride and it is your day. Usually the grooms don't really care much about the details of the wedding, and secretly wish to just elope, lol. But all kidding aside, the dark purple would look even better if you have all the greoomsmen wearing matching shirts with the dark purple bridesmaids dresses. The silver ties will look stunning! The bridesmaids can wear silver accents on their dresses, such as a silver sash around the waist or hips, or silver scarves worn across the front of the neck, and draping over the shoulders down the back. If you can not find dark purple shirts, you can easily dye the shirts yourself. Pick a day when you can hopefully get a few friends to come over and help with the project. (Brides have enough things to worry about!) Or you can ask or hire someone to do it for you. You can buy good quality home DIY dye and easy instructions, just about any store these days. Try a fabric store first. you can achieve the degree of purple you want by repeating the steps. Just purshase white shirts (Cotton/ Polyester blend is best) in the sizes and quantity you need first. Use a test shirt first if you need to. Buy an extra dye for this purpose. The red roses will look (if it is a true red) so stiking against a backdrop of dark purple and silver! If you are going with the dark purple, I would recommend dropping the black though. The dark purple will be devestatingly gorgeous. The black would diminish and undermine the effect of the dark purple. So if you choose new colors, I would recommend the dark purple and silver, with the Red Rose accent color. May I suggest for table decorations a single bud vase with a single red rose, a sprig of babies breath, perhaps a small fern frond and a silver ribbon tied around the neck of the vase.
