There are keishi pearls, rice pearls, potato pearls, nugget pearls, oblong pearls, button pearls, coin pearls that are flat and round or flat and squarish, and even stick pearls. They are also much more durable than other types of pearls because they are made of solid nacre.
Modern designers love to use freshwater pearls for wedding bridal jewelry designs. The variety of shapes, sizes and textures allow for more creativity and uniqueness. Aside from the natural colors in which freshwater pearls come, they can likewise be dyed in practically any color.
