Gold Bangles - Shopping Help

1)Size The standard size for bangles is 7 inches for women and 8 inches for men. However, it is always better to try on the ornament first in order to ensure if the size is correct. While the sizes for these gold jewellery bracelets and bangles are not as rigid as ring sizes and mostly a round about estimate works, do not make the mistake of judging the size of the bangle in keeping with the size of the wrist. It is the girth of the palm that will decide the bangle size.
2)Workmanship While the design of the bangle can be in keeping with personal taste, it is important to learn how to judge a well made gold bangle from a badly made one. Press the bangle towards the inside; if it bends or shows signs of giving in, the ornament is not worth investing in. Bangles that loose their circular shape over time reflect poor quality workmanship. If buying gold bracelets with screws and clasps do check a couple of times to ensure that these fit well and are easy to open and close.
3)Purity Pure gold is a soft metal and therefore to mould it into jewellery, there are some impurities added to an ornament. In the case of bangles too this holds true. So when buying these bangles do make sure that you do not end up paying for 22 carat gold while purchasing the ornament that has only 18 carat gold in it. It is also true that in the case of diamond studded gold bracelets too, the purity of the gold maybe only 18 carats since a higher purity is unable to hold the diamond in place securely. Buying certified ornaments is therefore highly recommended.
These bangles are so versatile that right from everyday wear to even the red carpet, one can wear them almost anywhere. Lately designers have come up with square shaped bangles that have given an all new angle to the tradition circular pattern of these ornaments.
